Sunny Slope Farm is a family run backyard market grower located on the north end of Douglas Island just across the channel from 
Juneau, Alaska. We are committed to growing food that is local, sustainable and affordable. The majority of our produce is grown in a 24’ x 48’ high tunnel although we do grow outside in raised beds under row covers and use a small hydroponic system. As growers, who live in a temperate rain forest, it is essential for us to use sustainable growing methods that do not harm the environment, people and wildlife in this place that we call home. Instead of using chemical fertilizers, pesticides or genetically modified plants we rely on things like compost, crop rotation, cover crops and seaweed to keep our land and crops healthy and productive. We believe that by working with the natural rhythms of our Southeast Alaska landscape we can grow excellent tasting food without risks to the environment. We also know that locally grown food is fresher, healthier, and tastes better!
